Meet Dr. Stearns, Dermatology
Education, Military, Clinical and Teaching Experience
Dr. Stearns is originally from suburban Washington D.C. and graduated from the University of Virginia. She obtained her medical degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences where she was awarded the prestigious Dean’s Award and the Matthews Military Honor Graduate Award.
She went on to pursue her dermatology and dermatopathology training at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.
Dr. Stearns was honored to serve a decade as an officer in the U.S. Army where she had the opportunity to be a Professor of Dermatology, Professor of Dermatopathology, and Associate Program Director of the Dermatology Residency Training Program at two of the military’s largest academic medical centers.
Most recently, she has enjoyed practicing in the quaint mountain communities near Vail and Beaver Creek resorts.
Dr. Stearns is board certified in both Dermatology and Dermatopathology and is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. She became a dermatologist because she felt she could help make an immediate difference in her patient’s lives. Dr. Stearns has a special interest in the early detection and prevention of skin cancer and is happy to be a part of FRDA and the Northern Colorado community.
